Readiness of foreign languages teachers to teach students with specific learning disabilities

TITLE: Readiness of foreign languages teachers to teach students with specific learning disabilities AUTHOR: Dagmar Andršová DEPARTMENT: Department of pedagogy SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Veronika Blažková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: Aim of my baccalaureate work was to find my orientation in types of learning disabilities, their causes and effects on teaching of foreign languages. And then describe educational methods and adopting of knowledge and skills for students with learning disabilities. I also aimed on role and attitude of teachers in education of pupils with learning disabilities. Through questionnaire inquiry I was investigating readiness and forms of education by teachers of foreign languages in this problematics, with evaluation of collected data and final summarization of this problematics. Work should serve not only for academical purposes, but also for informing teachers of foreign languages and choosing of their future work in educational process of pupils with specific learning disabilities. Development of professional competencies of primary school teachers

The diploma thesis on topic Development of professional competencies of Primary School teachers considers the research question: "What is the significance of teacher training and its length in the development of the professional competencies of primary school teachers?". The aim of the thesis is to introduce and analyze effective ways of developing the professional competencies of primary school teachers in the combined form of study. Contextualize the importance of practice and its length in the development of professional competencies. To deal with specific cases, ie cases of significance of practice and its length in the development of professional competencies of primary school teachers. With the support of professional literature, the basic theorems related to the topic of work are defined in the theoretical part: teacher, competencies, key competences, pedagogical knowledge and skills, constructivist approach in education and methods of professional development of teachers. Attention is paid to theory, practice and its position in teacher education. Reflection, cooperation and portfolio are mentioned here as effective means of professional development of teachers, ensuring the interconnection of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. EDUCATION OF TEACHERS IN SELECTED COUNTRIES

This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of education of upper secondary teachers in chosen countries including the Czech Republic. Its objective is to analyse requirements for teachers' training, qualifications and continuing professional development. The thesis primarily looks into the organisation of the education system and governance, legislation and principals of upper secondary teachers' training in chosen countries. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one specifies the environment of chosen countries using different criteria (the Czech Republic, England and Wales, Finland) and also the teachers' training, qualification and development dilemma in particular countries is detailed in this part. The countries involved are described in general (geographic location, political system, social, cultural and economic situation). The outline of the development and current situation of each society contributes to the understanding of particular systems of education. Chosen countries are characterised by a considerable geographic distance and also by different historical development. Teachers education in the field of Czech media education. Focusing on the situation on the grammar school level

This paper focuses on the much discussed topic of media literacy. Rather than focussing on the education of pupils, it turns to the possibilities of education primarily of high school teachers in the area of media education. It briefly presents the issue of media education and media literacy, and its historical tradition in the Czech lands. It focuses on the principles and rules of adult education from the point of view of andragogy. It analyses the offer of training programs, seminars, professional literature and specialized websites from non-profit organizations, private companies, the state and universities. A separate chapter provides an overview of the subjects taught with media themes at faculties of education. The research focuses on educational strategies and approaches to teaching media skills among several teachers from grammar schools in Plzen. It not only evaluates the amount and type of used forms of education, but takes a closer look at the motivation of teachers for further professional self-development, their relationship to the media and individual capabilities in the implementation of cross-cutting topics at individual schools. University studies of Teaching subject for nursery school from combined study students point of view

The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out the point of view on educated preparation of kindergarten teachers from the point of view of a student who studies combined form. The notion of professional development is defined and the history of teacher's profession is briefly introduced. Then the strategy for teacher education is described and compared with a situation in foreign countries. The personal and professional requests about kindergarten teachers are spefied in the theoretical part. The practical part brings the results from the quantitative research. Its aim was to discover the motives for a choice of university studies. It deals with notions of combined study students on the level and efficiency of study and usability of acquired information in a practical world. KEYWORDS

In the contribution we present ongoing research findings concerning benefits of the activities connected with problem posing in education of teachers and student teachers as a way improving their professional skills. We remind (recall, commemorate) diagnostic, educational and motivational benefits of these activities. We justify (substantiate) the need to consciously pay attention to the structure of posed problems.
